Victorian Carved Bone Skull Pendant with Garnet Eyes

This Victorian pedant is crafted as a skull and carved from bone. The eyes are set with faceted garnets within a bezel setting and the bale is crafted from 9ct rose gold. There is also a later 9ct yellow gold jump ring attached for easy threading onto a chain.

Memento Mori jewellery was popular throughout the Victorian era and was a symbol of mortality. 

This rare pendant is larger sized would make an unusual necklace when paired with a gold chain.
